Valentine's Day is quickly approaching so that leaves everybody with the lingering question; where to take that special someone for a romantic dinner. If you're like me, you love to try new and unique dining experiences. Valentine's Day is the perfect reason to step out of the box of casual dining and try something a little different and maybe spend a little more on a great meal than you normally would be willing to. After all, it is all about spoiling someone you love at least one day out of the year!
In Nashville, TN there is never a shortage of dining choices. No matter what cuisine you prefer you are always sure to find something to suit your palate. But on Valentine's Day, most couples are looking for a quiet, romantic restaurant. Nashville offers one particular option that is consistently top rated by most people who dine there.
I am speaking of The Melting Pot. For those of you not familiar with this restaurant it is a chain restaurant that serves a complete fondue feast. The Melting Pot is consistently ranked as Nashville's top date restaurant and top romantic restaurant. The ambiance is just as amazing as the food. The atmosphere is calm and serene and the lighting is just perfect. Not too dark and not too bright. There is usually beautiful soft music playing in the background.
Once you are seated you can choose from a variety of yummy cocktails and specialty drinks. They offer a full bar, so any drink you like can be served. They have some fantastic specialty martini's that are to die for as well. Try the Big Apple Martini or for something completely out of the ordinary try the Yin & Yang which is a delicious blend of Godiva White Chocolate, Stoli Vanilla vodka, Crme da Cacao and ice cream topped with chocolate shavings! Yummy! And that's just a cocktail!
The Melting Pot offers a four course meal aptly entitled "The Big Night Out". It includes a first course, a second course, an entre and dessert. This meal usually runs about $80 or you can add a lobster tail to the dinner for a little added decadence for only about $10 more.
The first course is their signature cheese fondue which is usually served with several different types of cubed bread, vegetables and other wonderful "finger" foods to dip in the succulent, delicious cheese.
The second course is a salad. You have the option of choosing a Mushroom, Chef or California salad. All of these choices are wonderful and are sure to please your palate. But don't get full yet. You still have the main course and dessert coming!
The main course consists of several options sure to fit any diners taste. You will be served filet mignon, pork tenderloins, shrimp, chicken and fish. These are served with mushrooms because what fondue is complete without dipping those beautiful button mushrooms in that luscious sauce?
For dessert you may choose from any of their signature chocolate fondue desserts. There are a myriad of choices here! Just to name a few, there is: Original, Amaretto, Cookies & Crme Marshmallow Dream, S'mores and Flaming Turtle. All of these fondues are served with fresh strawberries and bananas, cheesecake, tiny marshmallows, pound cake and brownies. Now that is an indulgent end to a romantic dinner!
If you don't want to go all out on a four course meal or you're just in the mood for a little lighter fare, don't fret. There are other menu choices such as Fondue for Two which includes all the courses except for the dessert course. You may also order one of their Signature Entrees if you each want to have your own different meal! They have various beef, chicken and pork entrees that are served with vegetables and a variety of sauces.
Needless to say, this is one of the best romantic spots in Nashville. Imagine sitting at a small quiet table with that special person in your life.
